About the Event


The Stoops Center for Communities, Families, and Children is pleased to extend an invitation to you for our innovative event, the Catalyzing Change: Strengthening Community Capacity for Opioid Response virtual symposium, hosted by our Southeast Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Center (ROTA-RC).

The event is open to everyone, but it will be particularly relevant for those across multidisciplinary settings whose work involves addressing the opioid crisis whether it is through prevention, harm reduction, health care, justice, or treatment; such as, social workers, those involved in healthcare (i.e. nurses/doctors), first responders (i.e. EMS, police officers, firefighters), educators, those involved within higher education, state and county health workers, mental health direct service providers, guardian ad litem, child welfare workers, librarians, and other professionals working directly with children, families, and communities affected by opioid, stimulant, and substance misuse.
During the event, you can network with peers and colleagues in a lounge through text chat or video, learn from our speakers, and visit the exhibit hall to connect with organizations and resources.
The symposium is scheduled for two separate days, April 11th and 12th, 2024, from 9:30 am to 3 pm EST.
Yes, please click REGISTER at the top of the page and complete the registration form to enjoy the event. Upon successful registration, a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address.
No. You do not need to download or install any software to participate in our symposium. You only need internet access.
Yes. You will have a swag bag! Visit the exhibit hall, explore booths, add documents to your online swag bag, and then email them to yourself or share items with friends and family by entering their email.
If you registered, sessions can be replayed on-demand 2-hours after their scheduled time on the day of the event and up to 90 days post-event on the event platform. The chat features will not be active.
If you have trouble accessing the event or need technical assistance on the day of the event, please email ssmith24@fsu.edu using the email you used to register for the virtual symposium.
Yes, we strongly recommend it. You will receive login details and can log in before the symposium begins to ensure you are familiar with navigating the online platform and have full access. If you encounter technical issues, please send an email to ssmith24@fsu.edu.
Yes, a total of 8 continuing education units will be provided. We will provide a survey link during the event that you should complete by filling out your professional license number and information. The CEU survey link will also be emailed to each registrant after the event has ended. If you fill out the form and you are not eligible for CEUs you will be provided a certificate of attendance. Please allow 30 days after the event for the CEUs to process.
